TOPIC: GOD’S IN CHARGE, NOT YOU.
Take-away Verse: Ecclesiastes5:1
“Guard
your steps when you go to the house of God. Go near to listen rather than to
offer the sacrifice of fools, who do not know that they do wrong.” (NIV)
IN BRIEF
The first lesson in Prayer is to acknowledge God as owner and source of all. Acknowledge also that even the desire to pray is by His drawing you near unto Himself. Be grateful unto Him and seek more to hear His will for you in that moment more than to run off at the mouth. It’s about Him!
SONG: REIGN, MASTER JESUS
1. Reign, Master Jesus – 2x
Reign, Master Jesus, reign
For the Lord has crowned you King of kings
O yes, reign Master Jesus, reign.
2. Lead, Master Jesus – 2x
Lead, Master Jesus, lead
For You are the One in the Driver’s seat
Not me, lead Master Jesus, lead.

Mark 8
34 And when he had called the people unto him
with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself,
and take up his cross, and follow me.
35 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it;
but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall
save it.
36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall
gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
37 Or what shall a man give in exchange for his
soul?
38 Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and
of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son
of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy
angels.
Ecclesiastes5:1-7;
Ecclesiastes 5
1 Keep thy foot when thou goest
to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of
fools: for they consider not that they do evil.
2 Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine
heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in
heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few.1
3 For a dream cometh through the multitude of
business; and a fool's voice is
known by multitude of words.
4 When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to
pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast
vowed.
5 Better is it
that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay.
Ecclesiastes 5
6 Suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin;
neither say thou before the angel, that it was an
error: wherefore should God be angry at thy voice, and destroy the work of
thine hands?
7 For in the multitude of dreams and many words there are also divers vanities: but fear thou God.

Philippians 2
13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will
and to do of his good pleasure.

2 Chronicles 7
14 If
my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and
seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways;
Luke17:7-10;
Luke 17
7 But which of you, having a servant plowing or
feeding cattle, will say unto him by and by, when he is come from the field, Go
and sit down to meat?
8 And will not rather say unto him, Make ready
wherewith I may sup, and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and
drunken; and afterward thou shalt eat and drink?
9 Doth he
thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I trow
not.
10 So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all
those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we
have done that which was our duty to do.
Romans8:5-11
Romans 8
5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the
things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the
Spirit.
7 Because the carnal mind is
enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can
be.4
8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please
God.
9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit,
if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the
Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
10 And if Christ be in
you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is
life because of righteousness.
11 But
if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that
raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his
Spirit that dwelleth in you.
